Located about one hour by boat from Nosy Be, Ankazoberavina is a small island just off the north western coast of Madagascar. Before reaching the island, guest can admire the vegetation of the mangrove. It is the perfect fit for those dreaming to spend their holidays in a unique place standing between shimmering ocean and a dense luxuriant vegetation.
Ankazoberavina (meaning “trees with big leaves” in Malagasy) is a peaceful island and the only disturbances come from the singing birds, the friendly lemurs. Various species of chameleons and nesting hawksbill turtles can also be seen in this paradise island. During the winter season, humpback whales can be observed in the warm water.
Being surrounded by coral reef, Ankazoberavina offers a great spot for snorkelers. There are delightful array of marine life including multicolored tropical fish.
Accommodation: eight exclusive hardwood cozy bungalows with traditional thatch roof and private terraces stand on a deserted beach in the northern part of the island. Each bungalow measures approximately 32square metres and is equipped with a large bedroom, private bathroom with hot running water, dressing room, electricity, standard electric sockets, private porch and a mezzanine that can accommodate two extra beds for children. The authenticity of each furniture comes from the fact that it is made by the local craftsmen.
The Restaurant stands on a great platform facing the sea. It is partially covered by a roof and a gigantic badamier tree casts its shadows over the restaurant. With the blue sea and surprising sunsets acting as a backdrop, the talent and imagination of the chef Paul surprises our guests with recipes that bring out the freshness and genuineness of local food, in addition to the incomparable flavor of freshly-captured fish cooked on the grill.
During the guest’s stay, various activities can be arranged on the spot such as: excursions, snorkeling, scuba diving (there is a well-equipped diving centre on site), whale watching, fishing, sailing and more.
