Nosy Be is a volcanic island situated on the north-western cape of Madagascar, washed by the Indian Ocean and the Mozambique Channel.

The Tour of the North takes place in the most northern part of Madagascar, where Antsiranana, the main town, stands around the beautiful bay, one of the greatest in the world.
Antsiranana’s economy is based on trade activities connected with the important commercial harbour, a port of call for big fishing boats which ply the Indian Ocean, built mainly by the Yemeni community, introduced during the French colonisation, who also introduced the use of khat, now widespread among the Antakarana local people.
On the east coast you can explore gorgeous bays, which are entirely deserted and protected by the rocks, with perfect turquoise waters for swimming. Along the coast lay beautiful unspoiled islands.
Further inland, you can visit the Amber Mountain National Park, one of the most beautiful, for its luxuriant vegetation, rivers and lakes and the Ankarana National Park with its spectacular caves and unique rock formations: the Tsingy, high pinnacles which make those places almost impassable, preserving their natural condition; then the Baobab Forest.

Upon arrival, follow the road to Ankarana park, which is reached in about 3 hours by 4 wdc; picnic lunch along the way; accommodation at the hotel Ankarana Lodge (ecolodge) or similar; in the evening, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, whole morning dedicated to hiking in the park for Ankarana to admire its natural beauty, such as the fantastic Tsingy, spectacular rock formations dating to about 100 million years ago, in the Jurassic Age; at the end lunch will be served; then continuation to visit the Red Tsingy, amazing ephemeral limestone formations, produced by erosion, taking striking colours; at the end, transfer to
Antsiranana for about 3 hours; accommodation at Hotel Suarez (boutique ***) or similar; in the evening, dinner and overnight.
Breakfast in hotel, then departure for the excursion to the forest of Baobab; departure from the hotel in the morning and embarking from the port of Antsiranana; after about 20′ sailing in the waters of the bay, arrival on the peninsula and the beginning of the hike of about 2.30; the excursion takes place in a region home to species of baobab Adansonia Madagascariensis and Adansonia Suarezensis, both endemic to the northern region of Madagascar; a lookout site will be reached by the way that shows a magnificent view of the bay and the city of Antsiranana; possibility of swimming in the sea; at the end, return by boat to Antsiranana; lunch in a restaurant; then sightseeing tour in town, the port the huge bay; in the evening, dinner and overnight in hotel.
Breakfast in hotel; departure by car to visit Amber Mountain park, a massif of volcanic origin, covered with lush vegetation, flowing rivers that originate spectacular waterfalls; at the end lunch will be served; continuation of the journey; arriving at Ankify in the end of the day; accommodation at the hotel Baobab Ankify ** or similar; in the evening, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, transfer to the port; boarding and cruise to the port of Nosy Be, for about 40′; at the arrival, transfer to the airport and assistance to the check-in for your flight.
